We've talked a lot about France since few days. And as a French I wanted this one to be my first post. 4 Million people in the whole country down the street to support the 17 victims and their families of the past week which has been horrible. Approximately 3 million people attended a march in Paris. People all around the world reacted to this tragedy and showed us their support. It was really amazing to see all of this happening. I can tell you walking with 20000 people, making history and everything was an amazing feeling. It warmed my heart to see how a folk can be united. I'm proud of my country and I guess we all are. Now we have to stay as united as the past few days. It's the best way to defend democracy. We stood up for our right and NOTHING and NO ONE will reduce journalists or even us to silence. No one deserves to die because of what they do even if Charlie hebdo's work can irritate some people. Also, there are a lot of criticism. First towards leaders like Benjamin Netanyahu or Mahmoud Abbas etc those leaders who came support freedom of speech but don't apply it in their own country and that's why some people didn't come to the march. Also there is critcism over US presence( or un-presence ..)
Finally I think we need to separate the events and the political game that's why it's vital the far right did not benefit from the tragedy and no amalgam must be make against Muslims. There is a risk they will be stigmatised for sure and aftermath the event mosques have been targeted but we NEED to stay as united as yesterday. We are not afraid and they won't divide us and make people hate each other.
What do you think of all those recent events? Were you a part of the march in Paris? or somewhere else? Tell me ! xo
